I've decided to take down a bunch of the art I did for the 30 day drawing challenge. I'd like to keep my blog as more of a portfolio almost only showing my better work and those were mostly rushed! I'll eventually update my website and have them hosted on there if anyone cares to see them again.

For now, have a zombie chick! or more accurately undead rogue, Rezori, from the Darkspear realm, lawl. :B

day 12 | most recent accomplishment

Winning the 2009 ELAN award for Best Character Animation for my supervising work on Toot & Puddle (I know, not my most recent but I can't think of anything else - this one was pretty wicked!).

day 11 | turning point in my life

Choosing Animation over a Bachelor in Fine Art after high school.

This really got me thinking that, well, I've never really had any big defining moments in my life. This is just a career related thing and I can switch jobs if I want, nothing very special or momentous.

But this decision was SO much more than that - I realized that I never would have re-met my husband Geoff if I'd gone for fine arts. The only reason we met each other after being in high school together was because of a mutual friend (thanks again Chris!) who was in my animation class.
I wouldn't be in this awesome home that we bought together, never have gotten our hilarious and sweet dog Tonks. I never would have joined such an amazing family that I feel are blood and kin to me, that I feel like I've been a part of my whole life when I've only known them for 6 years.

Not to mention all the lifetime friends I made along the way that make my career SO fun. Even when things get rough (hey making cartoons is surprisingly stressful!) I know that I am surrounded by great and talented people that can make me laugh when I need it most.

So, after thinking about it I am VERY grateful that I chose Animation as a career. So lucky for everyone and everything that it has brought into and enriched my life with. So thanks, Me, for choosing right!
